While we remember women killed and injured by male violence, politics continues to send out contradictory signals.

On one side, Nordio talks about the \u201cgenetic code of man\u201d <\/em>that supposedly does not really accept equality, as if violence were a biological destiny and not the product of a patriarchal culture that can \u2013 and must \u2013 be changed. On the other side, Roccella downplays the importance of sex education, denying that it can prevent violence and femicides.

Meanwhile, the law on free and current consent \u2013 the law that should strengthen protection for victims and clearly recognise that without an explicit yes there is no relationship, only abuse \u2013 has in practice been blocked: procedure suspended, timelines undefined, political priorities elsewhere.
